If it's getting new heads because it needs them then I would say 5.7 hemi (variable displacement makes things bad if it stops working)

ops manager at my job has an 06 charger that he's selling for that reason. His wife was taking the kids to school — she was waiting to drop them off when she heard a "clunk," and the car stalled out — wouldn't start again. It had 175k miles on it.

He put $1500 into new heads and is taking it to the dealer where he bought her a new Accord Sport to unload it fast.

I just paid 700 to resurface and do a valve job, the car only had 121k at time of sale and lasted a week. This is my third time with this issue on the Hemi engines. The previous was a Charger Hemi w/ 55k miles. That time I only repaired the one side that was damaged, and then 3 months later the other head failed. So now I just go all out, seems like it happens on a whim.
